The departure of young defender Marlon from Fluminense may be a matter of time.
Interviewed by Rádio Brasil, agent Frederico Moraes talked about the situation of the player, and revealed that contacts are being made with European clubs over a summer move. During a meeting that took place last week, Frederico Moraes told Fluminense’s board that Marlon wants to play more regularly, referring to the lack of minutes he’s been getting this season. The agent also ruled out a move to another Brazilian club or China.
He said: “You can never give a guarantee that the player will be sold. We talked to the board last week, and said the player plans to continue his evolution and that Europe goes through his will. We understand that this window is important within our schedule. This does not mean that he will surely be sold. It will depend on the proposals, and if they please the player and Fluminense. Contacts are frequent. I talked to two clubs in Europe, and I’m awaiting the arrival of one of them to Brazil to speak not only of Marlon, but also about other situations.”
He added: “I confess that at no time his departure to another club in Brazil was discussed. We didn’t discuss this. To tell the truth, we do not even think about it. And China doesn’t pass over his head, under any circumstances.”
