The Brazilian football federation will hold the second edition of the Encontro de Técnicos on Monday, a meeting between coaches from the country, and Corinthians boss Tite has confirmed his presence.
The coach did not attend the event last year, justifying his absence by claiming he had to prepare for an important game in the Copa Libertadores, against Guaraní. It will be different this Monday for the current Corinthians manager at the headquarters of the Brazilian football federation as national team coach Dunga will also be present for the event. According to Folha, Tite has rejected at least four conversations with the Brazilian federation to talk about the possibility of leading the national team. The last time he declined an approach from CBF was in late April. The first two happened last year, and the third was early last month. Tite had dreamed about managing Brazil when he was away from coaching for a sabbatical in 2014. He hoped for a call from CBF at the end of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, where Brazil were embarrassed by Germany in the semifinals. CBF opted to replace Scolari with Dunga, leaving Tite frustrated. As justification for declining the meetings with Brazil FA, Tite told people close to him that he do not intend to work “with these people,” referring to the president Marco Polo Del Nero, accused of corruption by the US Justice.
