Brazilian national team coach Dunga showed a lot of calmness during the press conference after announcing the squad to compete in next month’s Copa América Centenário in the United States.
Dunga showed, above all, so much calmness despite the existence of pressure of a possible dismissal in case of failure in the tournament. He said: “We are committed to win, we do not have to worry about five years from now. Today we are happy to support CBF, taking steps to improve Brazilian football. In the national team, you have to worry about the present, enjoy the moment, knowing that millions of Brazilians wanted to be here. I’m coach for the second time, I’ve won the Copa América three times, went to two World Cup finals. I’m a happy guy and I want to do things with the national team.”
Dunga also talked about the seven players picked from the U23 team who will join the national team for the tournament next month. The coach made a lot of praise, but also took the opportunity to leave a message. He added: “They are not boys, they are professionals, men playing with responsibility for their clubs. It is important to give them experience. We always try to merge so that they acquire more experience in the squad. Players need to understand that they are here for the Copa América, and not the Olympics. The future depends on the present.”
