Chilean midfielder Charles Aránguiz would"ve turned into a laughing-stock on social networks after Leicester City were crowned Premier League champions on Monday night.
With a desire to go to a club where he can “fight for titles," Aránguiz refused a proposal from Leicester City in August last year, when he was at Internacional, and opted to sign for Bayer Leverkusen, despite their proposal being less advantageous for both the player and the Brazilian club. Inter president Vitório Piffero admitted that he tried to convince Aránguiz to accept the proposal of Leicester. They officially presented an offer of €15 million, which pleased Inter and also DIS, the group that owned 50% of the economic rights of the midfielder. Piffero told Lance!: “It was decided by Aránguiz and his manager to go to the German club. The transfer fee [offered by Leicester] was higher, and the salary was also better, but nothing I said could change his mind. There was nothing to take away that motivation from him. He said he wanted titles."
The Chilean had no way to predict the future, but should carry the regret for not listening to Piffero for the rest of his life.
