França, former player of Palmeiras, and now at Figueirense, was involved in a violent fight in Florianópolis, where he currently lives.
A heated discussion following a traffic accident turned into an assault, with the midfielder being hit by a car and dragged on the road. The incident was reported to UOL Esporte by a person close to the player who did not want to be identified. The publication approached França, Figueirense and the Department of Health of the State of Santa Catarina, but neither side gave details of what happened. According to friends of França, who had been with him during the night, the incident occurred in the metropolitan region of Florianópolis. The player was with friends and was driving when another vehicle hit his car and fled. Irritated, the midfielder would’ve chased the vehicle in question. Then the heated discussion apparently turned into a fight with punches and shoving involved. A third vehicle would then enter the scene and hit França. Once fallen, he was recognized by the attackers, who dragged his face on the tar and beat him further. França was taken to the Regional Hospital of Florianópolis, and according to the source heard by report, the player has several scars due to the severity of the incident and is still groggy.
