The English press seems confused about the future of Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato, who’s currently on loan at Premier League side Chelsea from Corinthians.
Some outlets have published that Italian coach Antonio Conte, who takes charge of Chelsea from next season, do not want the Brazilian to stay at Stamford Bridge. Some guarantee that the attacker is in the club’s plans for the upcoming campaign, and that’s what has been reported by Sky Sports on Saturday. According to the TV network, Antonio Conte is a fan of Alexandre Pato and wants to sign the striker permanently after the end of the loan spell. The report cites people connected to Brazilian club Corinthians as sources, but haven’t revealed any names. Chelsea have a buy-option at the end of Pato’s loan contract, and according to the channel, Corinthians are confident that the Blues will pay for the permanent transfer of the player because Antonio Conte is an admirer of the 26-year-old. So far, Pato has just one goal in 131 minutes under Guus Hiddink – the former Milan man scored on his debut against Aston Villa. Current Italy coach Conte was in Brazil last week and attended a lecture with Dunga at the CBF headquarters in Rio de Janeiro.
