Ghangzu Evergrande reportedly willing to offer Willian £250K a week to leave Chelsea
Chelsea winger Willian is reportedly the latest Brazilian to be subject to interest from the Chinese Superleague. Talents such as Renato Augusto, Ramires, Gil, Alex Teixeira, Diego Tardelli and Ricardo Goulart have already moved to China, with eye watering salaries on offer.
Ghangzou Evergrande have now apparently turned their attention to Chelsea’s Willian and are willing to offer the Brazilian around £250,000 a week in salary. Alan Carvalho, Paulinho and Ricardo Goulart are members of the current Evergrande squad, they are also coached by Luiz Felipe Scolari.
Willian has 11 goals and 6 assists for Chelsea this season and is currently negotiating a deal with the London club thought to be worth £120,000 a week. However, Ghangzou are apparently lurking with intent.
When teammate and compatriot Ramires made the move to China in January, Willian said, “I wish him all the best in China. I’m sure that the financial aspect was crucial for his decision.” Now his own resolve looks set to be tested with interest from the emerging Chinese Superleague.
