Chelsea’s young Brazilian midfielder Lucas Piazon has returned to Stamford Bridge after his loan spell at Reading. The Royals have only two games left to play in the Championship season and with little riding on them, they have decided to return Piazon and teammate Michael Hector.
Piazon played 27 games on loan in Berkshire, scoring 5 goals. Piazon hopes to be part of Brazil’s Olympic squad in Rio this summer. Neither he, nor Hector will be available for any of Chelsea’s final four games since his loan has not formally expired.
The 22 year old will train with the team at Cobham and it is likely that he will either be loaned out again next season, or that he will pursue a permanent move. He joined the club from São Paulo in 2011 and won the FA Youth Cup with Chelsea in 2012.
