Reports from Spain on Wednesday claims that father of Barcelona forward Neymar met Real Madrid president, Florentino Pérez, twice in recent months.
According to the information from El Confidencial, Neymar’s father and the president of Real Madrid had meetings in the months of December and January, and the second meeting occurred days before the Ballon d’Or Award ceremony in Zurich. The meeting happened in the Swiss city, while the other one was in Madrid. The subject of the two meetings was a possible move to Real Madrid. The newspaper reports that one of the questions by Florentino Pérez was whether there was problem with Neymar to wear the shirt of Real Madrid, to which the father of the Brazilian player said “No.” At the meeting, the representative of Neymar would’ve expressed the appreciation of the Barcelona player for their rivals and demonstrated that his son had no problem wearing the shirt of Los Blancos. The newspaper also says that Neymar’s father went to Switzerland without his son, who he met in Zurich days later for the Ballon d’Or ceremony. Real Madrid would be willing to trigger Neymar’s €190m release-clause and also offer him annual wages of €20 million.
