It seems like Chinese millionaires are not satisfied by just spending their fortunes to bring big names to the Asian country.
Now, according to AS, the group that controls Guangzhou Evergrande plans to buy clubs in England and the United States. The name of the English club that can be bought by them was not revealed, but they are attracted by the high television quotas that the Premier League teams receive as well as the huge international audience, especially in Asia. About US football, there was even speculations about a partnership with David Beckham, who plans to have a te in Major League Soccer. However, it hasn’t been confirmed whether the agreement would be for the entry of a new club in the country’s main championship, or any activity that was already in the plans. Led by 2002 FIFA World Cup winning coach Luiz Felipe Scolari, Guangzhou Evergrande spent over €69 million this season.
