Close to completing four years in Russia, Brazilian forward Hulk has left open the possibility of leaving Zenit at the end of the season.
Porto, the club which earned him fame in European football, are attentive to the situation. Portuguese newspaper A Bola revealed on Thursday that the return of the Brazilian is a dream for Porto president Pinto da Costa, who “will make a huge effort” to try and bring him back during the next transfer window. According to the publication, the president would’ve already contacted the representative of Hulk, Teodoro Fonseca, to be aware of the player’s situation in Russia. The biggest obstacle would be his high salary, something that wouldn’t fit within the current budget of Porto. But the newspaper adds that the board are willing to make a financial effort to have the player. With a contract until 2019 with Zenit, Hulk was already subject to interest from other European clubs in recent years, but remained at the Russian side, where he is a major star since 2012, when he was bought from Porto for €40 million.
