At Lazio since 2013, 23-year-old Brazilian attacking midfielder Felipe Anderson reached 100 games for the Italian side last weekend in the 2-0 victory over Empoli at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
Felipe Anderson, who’s been linked to the likes of Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, thanked the club for the opportunity they gave him for his development, and said that he still has hopes in the fight for a place in the UEFA Europa League. He said: “I am very proud to have completed 100 games for Lazio. It’s a great pleasure to look back and see everything that I’ve developed in and out of the field during this period. If today I am recognized for my work, it’s because Lazio gave me this opportunity as well. You can be sure that my gratitude to the club will be eternal. I hope to have more number of games and we can win a place in the Europa League to close the season well. While there is a chance, we will fight.”
Sitting eighth in the Serie A standings, Lazio are 11 points behind Fiorentina, who currently holds the last spot to qualify for the European competition. The next match of the team is against Juventus, in Turin on Wednesday.
