After Santos" 2-0 victory against São Bento at the Vila Belmiro in the Paulistão quarterfinals last weekend, left-back Zeca revealed that he"s received a proposal from Europe.
The interest of two teams from Italian football came after the indication of former Dutch national team player and currently unemployed coach, Clarence Seedorf. With good connections in Italy, Seedorf is acting as an intermediary for the company OTB Sports that takes care of Zeca"s career. In recent days, two teams made an enquiry to the board of Santos, but club president Modesto Roma Júnior has ruled out selling the left-back, who also shows no desire to leave. Zeca, who"s a regular in the team"s starting XI, said: “My intention is to stay. There was something [proposal], yes. It came to me and for the club, but the squad are going through a good period. It"s normal to have proposals."
Tha main objective of Zeca is to make Brazil"s squad for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro this August, and he was called up for the last round of friendlies by coach Rogério Micale. A move to European football requires adaptation and doesn"t guarantee regular playing time; hence this would diminish the youngster"s plans and the priority would be to continue in Brazil, at least until the end of the Olympic Games.
