Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr have reduced the amount they were demanding to release Brazilian attacking midfielder Marquinhos Gabriel.
Club president Faisal bin Turki bin Nasser, who promised to sell Marquinhos Gabriel in the middle of the year, has reduced the value he was demanding to open negotiations. The Saudi Arabian leader dropped his asking price from €4 million to €2.6 million for Marquinhos Gabriel, who agreed in January to stay at the club to play in the Asian Champions League. Corinthians and Santos are the two clubs aiming for the signature of the 25-year-old. Despite having reduced the price to facilitate a possible transfer to Brazilian football, Al-Nassr stays strong in their stance from the start of the season: proposal of instalments or a loan will not be accepted. Marquinhos Gabriel was one of the major highlights of Santos in the final stretch last year. Santos coach Dorival Júnior is keen on the player and even maintains contact with Marquinhos, who wants to return to the Vila Belmiro. However, the transfer window in Brazil closes on the 20th of this month and reopens only in July, so Santos must try to reach an agreement with the Arabs within Tuesday, if they want to count on the player.
