Italian side Inter Milan reportedly had a scout night in the match between Grêmio and Brazil de Pelotas at the Grêmio Arena on Wednesday, to monitor 20-year-old midfielder Walace.
Walace, who was referred as the ‘Brazilian Pogba’ by Italian website Calcio Mercato, is the target of a number of clubs from Europe following his impressive displays since last season. UOL Esporte found that the Inter Milan scout was looking at possible targets in Argentina recently, but came to Brazil in order to see Walace more closely and is analysing the youngster. Grêmio and the player’s manager have received enquiries from a number of clubs over a possible negotiation. Teams from Spain, Portugal, Germany, Italy and England have put themselves in the fight for Walace. In Ecuador, where Grêmio faces LDU on the 13th, there will be European scouts present to closely monitor the midfielder. Clubs from Spain and Germany have already moved in this direction, as they begin to move with a view to next season. According to the Italian press, Inter Milan could pay up to €10 million for Walace, who has been a starter at Grêmio since last year. He was injured this year and played just six games in the current campaign, scoring two goals. His contract with Grêmio is until June 2018.
