The meeting in CBF headquarters that defined the maintenance of coach Dunga in the national team, at least unil the end of the Copa América Centenário in June, resulted in immediate relief to Tite and Corinthians.
Tite didn’t hide his nervousness in recent days, not due to the possibility of coaching the national team, but the possible loss of focus on his work at Corinthians. At a news conference in Colombia on Tuesday, Tite showed that he’s fully on Wednesday’s game against Independiente Santa Fe in the fifth round of the Copa Libertadores group stage. Tite has been regularly asked about taking charge of Brazil, since the recent draws of Dunga’s team, against Uruguay and Paraguay. Corinthians were waiting for the decision taken by Brazil FA on Tuesday, despite most of the club’s leaders believing that Tite would reject the invitation to take the job if Dunga was fired. Tite said: “It was just a rumour. I’ve been running away from you press guys! I am very happy at Corinthians, doing my job. I want to be here at Corinthians, I want to stay focused, focused on my work. I cannot be thinking about two jobs.”
