PSG defender David Luiz has revealed that Sergio Kun Aguero did not apologise to him personally for a bad challenge on the Brazilian committed three years ago. The incident came when Luiz was playing for Chelsea and Aguero made a studs up challenge on Luiz.

“Aguero is one of the best strikers in Europe. Last round, I faced Diego Costa. Now I have to do a job against Aguero – these are always the sort of players you want to test yourselves against,” Luiz said, adding, “He committed a very dangerous tackle against me when I was at Chelsea.

“I always felt the tackle deserved a personal apology, but I like to forgive in life – for me there is no issue.” Aguero issued an apology on his twitter feed after the game, but didn’t contact Luiz personally.

Luiz was a Champions League winner with Chelsea in 2012. Tonight, Luiz and Aguero will face one another in Paris in Manchester City’s first ever appearance in a European Cup quarter-final.
