Carlos Dunga has warned Diego that he has to be patient in order to win back his place in the Selecao.
The Werder Bremen midfielder has 12-times been capped and had initially been hopeful that his excellent form for Bremen would earn him a comeback in Brazil’s national team, but Dunga dismissed comments from Bremen that the former FC Porto playmaker deserves a call-up.
“It’s not much of a help to create a lobby as what counts is the opinion of the coach and that’s me,” insisted Dunga, who believes that Diego has to built on his superb start in Germany before standing a realistic chance to join the likes of Kaka and Ronaldinho in Brazil’s midfield.
“Many players had their problems in Europe as Diego had in Porto. Now he has a coach and a team where he enjoys himself.”
