After Corinthians’ 2-1 victory over Ponte Preta, coach Tite was once again asked about the possibility of taking over the Brazilian national team.
With current coach Dunga under pressure, the Corinthians manager tried to dodge the issue, but admitted that it would be impossible to take the two positions for a period. Brazil FA have growing concerns over Dunga following recent results, and is considering appointing a new name for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Tite said: “I do not believe. No human being in its fullness can work in two locations. We’re talking about excellence, and high level. Imagine working in two places. I do not believe in excellence that way. I am proud of the praise, I will always keep improving. I do not agree that there’s just me, there are other skilled managers. My time of choice has passed, it’s time to support those who are there now.”
Tite was also asked if he watched Brazil’s 2-2 draw against Paraguay on Thursday. He responded: “I was pretty tired. I saw the first half. I was tired and slept in the second half.”
