Manchester United attacker Andreas Pereira insists he made the right choice in choosing to play for Brazil ahead of Belgium, the nation of his birth. Pereira represented Belgium at youth level from 2010 until 2013, but in 2014, he made the decision to represent Brazil- the nation where his parents were born.

"Ah! It"s very special for me to play for Brazil, and hopefully I can achieve that dream of playing and winning these Olympics," he said. "I think it was not only because of the Olympics, no, I think it was also because my parents are Brazilian, I am Brazilian, so I always felt Brazilian me and for me it was a very easy choice."

Pereira is a regular in Brazil’s U-23 Olympic side and is set to represent the Seleção as they bid for their first ever Olympic gold at the games in Rio in August, "If we stay focused, do everything right and with the talent that we have, we can, yes [win Olympic gold]."
