Barcelona right-back Daniel Alves will complete the mark of 90 games with the Brazilian national team on Tuesday, in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Paraguay.
In Asunción, the Barcelona player will also match a big name in his position: Jorginho, World Cup winner with Brazil in 1994. By equalling former player Jorginho who has played 90 games, Dani Alves will become the right-back with third most appearances in the history of Seleção. In front of him are Djalma Santos and Cafú, with 112 and 149 games, respectively. In October, Dani Alves will complete ten years since making his debut for the Brazilian national team. Alves was called up to the Brazil squad for the first time by current coach Dunga, and made his debut in a friendly in Kuwait after replacing Maicon. He represented Brazil in 2010 and 2014 World Cups, played the Copa América in 2007, 2011 and 2015, and the Confederations Cup in 2009 and 2013. In this period, the right-back won three titles: the Copa América in 2007 and then the Confederations Cup in 2009 and 2013. In 89 matches, Alves has scored six goals and made 15 assists.
