Brazilian national team coach Dunga chose Shandong Luneng defender Gil and Santos striker Ricardo Oliveira to replace David Luiz and Neymar in the starting XI to face Paraguay on Tuesday, in Asunción, for the sixth round of 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Gil and Ricardo Oliveira trained as starters in training on Sunday in Viamão, near Porto Alegre. It was the first training session of the Brazilian team after the 2-2 draw against Uruguay on Friday at the Arena Pernambuco in Recife. David Luiz and Neymar are suspended because they collected a second yellow card in the last round. Felipe and Gabigol, called up by the coach as last minute replacements for Luiz and Neymar, trained among the reserves. Brazil, currently sitting third in the standings behind Ecuador and Uruguay, will have another training session on Monday and then travels to Paraguay.
Expected XI against Paraguay: Álisson; Daniel Alves, Gil, Miranda, Filipe Luís; Luiz Gustavo, Fernandinho, Renato Augusto; Willian, Douglas Costa, Ricardo Oliveira.
