As in almost all the most important games of the season, Brazilian left-back Alex Sandro is expected to start for Juventus, against Bayern Munich on Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League.
Alex Sandro, who was used in 25 matches and a starter in 16 of those, has scored two goals and made three assists. In an exclusive interview at the training centre in Turin, the player talked about his good phase in Italy and explained the secrets of success of the team. He said: “The club have a winning mentality. Who comes here knows that they’re coming only to win. The team always plays to win and I’m very happy to be at a winning club.”
What many do not know is that the former Santos man started his career playing as a striker, and not a left-back. The change was after being advised by his former coach from the youth system of Atletico-PR, Marquinhos Santos, who predicted a future for him as a starter in the national team. He added: “I am very happy to return to the national team, I hope to be called up always. Marcelo is a friend, he is a great player. But I always want to be in the national team, regardless of Marcelo, Filipe Luís or another player.”
