The beginning of the year 2016 has been very good for Cruzeiro’s young Uruguayan midfielder Giorgian De Arrascaeta.
Arrascaeta has already scored two goals, makes key passes to teammates and is having effective participation in the games, with lots of movement and desire. De Arrascaeta recognizes he’s going through a good period, but isn’t sure if it’s the best for the team. The 21-year-old arrived at Toca da Raposa II at the beginning of last year, and has played 49 games for the club, scoring 11 goals. The player hopes that soon, the team will reach the technical level which Deivid, the players and the fans expect. He said: “I don’t know if it’s my best period. I know I’m good, with confidence. The important thing is to try to help the team. We are trying to improve. A new year, new challenge, the goal we have is new. I am training hard on a daily basis. Other players came, changed a bit. Some came, others left, but the group is almost the same. Changes a bit, but I think we will improve defensively and develop more offensively.”
