Eduardo Baptista could not resist the pressure and is no longer the coach of Brazilian club Fluminense.
After two defeats in a row in derbies [against Flamengo and Botafogo], the coach was sacked by Fluminense"s board on the morning of Thursday. Mario Bittencourt, who occupied the vice-president"s spot, was responsible for the sacking of Eduardo Baptista, but he was also fired from the office. The search for a new coach has already begun, and one of the targets is Cuca who has had two previous spells at the club. Cuca spent the last two years in China, and his agent Eduardo Uram confirmed the contact. Uram, however, said he still couldn"t speak with Cuca and recalled that the coach"s idea was to return to work in April and May, near the start of the Brazilian Championship. With some health problems in the family, he also intends to make a three-week trip to Europe. Another name being analysed by the Fluminense board is Levir Culpi, who left Galo last year.
