With Serge Aurier suspended for offensive comments against the club’s coach and teammates, young Brazilian Marquinhos started on the right for PSG in the 2-1 win over Chelsea on Tuesday.
Marquinhos, who’s currently a back up for first-choice central defenders David Luiz and Thiago Silva, is not satisfied with his situation at PSG. And therefore he admits that he could leave the French team during the next transfer window, in the middle of the year. The 21-year-old told Globo Esporte after the win over Chelsea: “I have to finish this season. I am working to find my space. If I end the season the way it has been going, we will see what can be done and I will have to make a choice.”
European press have been speculating constantly about Barcelona’s interest in Marquinhos, and the player seemed flattered that he’s in the sights of the Champions League winners. He added: “Barcelona are a great team, won the Champions League last year. Very pleased to see the interest of a great team as well. This shows that the work has been well done. But you have to continue with the focus here at PSG before the season ends, so I can keep on doing a good job, and always looking for my space. Then, yes, it’s the time to think about what will happen after that.”
