Corinthians enter the race for Figueirense revelation Clayton, and makes offer to sign 100% of economic rights
Corinthians want to strengthen their attack and have made an offer to sign Figueirense's 20-year-old talent Clayton who already has a proposal from Atlético Mineiro.
The information was revealed by Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola in his column in Diário de São Paulo. The offer of Corinthians was made to player's manager Jorge Machado, who will pass it on to Figueirense's football department. The agent will meet with the Santa Catarina team to advance the negotiations and try a breakthrough, even though Atlético Mineiro were first to negotiate. Currently, the economic rights of Clayton are divided between Eduardo Uram [20%], Figueirense [15%], Jorge Machado [30%] and Banco BMG [35%]. The idea of Corinthians is to acquire 100% of the rights, while Atlético intends to buy 50% of the attacker's rights and both clubs hope to seal a deal today. Atlético and Corinthians have submitted their squads for the group stages of this year's Copa Libertadores, and even if signed, Clayton wouldn't be available for the first six games.
