São Paulo and Cruzeiro had opened the doors to Lucas Silva
Out of favour at Marseille, Brazilian midfielder Lucas Silva was reportedly approached in the middle of this week by Cruzeiro and São Paulo.
According to the journalist Bruno Andrade, the two clubs have opened the door for the 22-year-old to make a return to the Brasileirão as the media start to explore the controversial incident where the player was asked to get out of the team-bus just before Marseille's trip for the game against Montpellier. Lucas Silva had released an official statement on the case to deny the media reports, and thanked the approach from Brazilian clubs. Lucas also stressed his desire to stay in European football. He was back on the pitch for Marseille on Thursday as he played the final minutes of the 2-0 victory over Trélissac in the Coupe de France. On loan from Real Madrid until June 30, the former Cruzeiro man declined to accept a move to Anderlecht few hours before the closing of the transfer window last month. Earlier this year, Lucas also refused to open talks with Flamengo and Corinthians.
