Competing in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro for Brazil is the main objective of Santos forward Gabriel Barbosa in 2016.
The 19-year-old is already thinking about partnering his idol Neymar in the green and yellow shirt, as the Barcelona star should be one of the three players aged over 23 in the squad. To be called up by national team coach Dunga, the teenager wants to “improve in everything" with total dedication in each workout at Santos. Gabigol has scored 42 goals in the last two seasons for Santos, and has started 2016 brightly. He was quoted in Globo Esporte: “Olympics is my biggest dream, next to Santos. For the competition, the place [Rio de Janeiro], and probably with Neymar… It is a medal [gold] that Brazil have never won. I want to be part of this special moment. I want to improve in all. Improve, and fix. I want to be the best in everything."
The Olympic Games will be played in Rio de Janeiro from August this year, and Gabigol has been a regular name in Rogério Micalle"s U23 squad preparing for the competition.
