Paulo Henrique Ganso has had a very encouraging start to the 2016 season, as he’s been the star of the team during the first team games.
Against RB Brasil in the Campeonato Paulista, Ganso scored a goal, and then in the Copa Libertadores playoff fixture against César Vallejo in Peru, he was the best player on the field. He was rested in the 4-0 win over Água Santa, but will return to the starting XI on Wednesday against the Peruvians, to lead the team’s quest for a spot in the Libertadores group stage. He said:  “I made no special preparation during the vacation, but I worked very hard in the pre-season and I am also taking great care with the nutrition, which can make all the difference.”
Ganso had a conversation with coach Edgardo Bauza early in the season and the concern shown by his manager also greatly helped him. He added: “He’s a guy with a working style somewhat different from Osório, who liked to attack more. But the team is organized tactically.”
