Paraguayan defender Fabián Balbuena arrived in Brazil on Sunday to complete his transfer to 2015 Brasileirão champions Corinthians.
The 24-year-old is expected to undergo medical examinations on Monday, and then sign a contract for three years. Corinthians reached an agreement with the player early last week, but still had to discuss the form of payment with Libertad for the purchase of 100% of his economic rights for approximately €1.5 million. Balbuena told Lance!: “I was already playingat Libertad, so I"m fine physically. I"m ready to be available to the coach. I hope I can play for Corinthians as soon as possible."
Balbuena, who played for the Paraguayan national side in last year"s Copa América,  will be the tenth signing of Corinthians for the current season. He will fight for a starting spot with Felipe and Yago, and Corinthians already have Vilson [former Chapecoense] and Pedro Henrique [youth product] as reserve options.
