Signed by Monaco last week, 23-year-old Brazilian defender Jemerson was presented to the media on Thursday.
The former Atlético Mineiro player believes he can turn out to be a regular name in Dunga’s list for the Brazilian national team if he makes an impact in his new team. Jemerson played 109 games for Atlético and was state champion in 2013 and 2015. He won the Recopa Sudamericana in 2014, and also the Copa do Brasil in the same year. His good performances earned him a call up to the Brazilian national team for the World Cup qualifier against Peru when David Luiz was suspended, but he couldn’t play. Jemerson said: ” I chose Monaco because it is a big European club. A club that reveals several young players. I know the French Championship is observed by the committee of Seleção. I hope to adapt myself and play as often as possible, and the goal is to earn a call up to the national team again.”
