The Brazilian team are facing a dilemma over the participation of captain Neymar in two major competitions in 2016.
Calling up Neymar for the Copa América Centenário [3-26 June in the United States] and the Olympic Games [4-26 August in Rio de Janeiro] can mean an intense schedule for him in a year where he already has to play in 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, plus commitments with Barcelona. Globo Esporte contacted Brazil national team"s coordinator Gilmar Rinaldi, to know whether their intention is to use Neymar in both of the events. He said: “At first, yes, but let"s talk to the players and the clubs. It is a question about the physical part. Soon, Dunga will pass me the three names [over 23 years] he intends to call for the Olympics. Hence, after the World Cup qualifiers in March [25th against Uruguay, and 29th against Paraguay], let"s go and contact them personally."
Argentina are also in a similar situation with Lionel Messi, and coach Tata Martino has already announced that the Barcelona star will not come to Rio in August. Neymar admits that one of his major goals this year is to win the unprecedented Olympic Gold for Brazil.
