Cruzeiro have completed the signing of Uruguayan midfielder Federico Gino, and are also close to sealing the transfer of Lucas Romero from Vélez.
Federico Gino was at the club’s training centre to sign an 18 month contract, with an option to renew for three more seasons. Argentine midfielder Lucas Romero is also in Belo Horizonte to conduct medical examinations and sign his contract. Born in Uruguaiana, 22-year-old Federico Gino rescinded his contract with Defensor last Wednesday to finalize the details of a move to Cruzeiro. The player was loaned to Carpi in Italy for the second half of last year, but appeared in just one game. He returned to the Uruguayan team for pre-season in January, but then rescinded his contract.
Lucas Romero, 21, was already negotiating with Cruzeiro in recent weeks and had agreed personal terms with the Brazilian club. He was awaiting an agreement between the clubs to complete a move, and the deal was confirmed by Vélez president Raúl Gámez.
