Monaco will officially confirm the transfer of Brazilian defender Jemerson from Atlético Mineiro once he passes a medical and signs the contract.
A few hours before the game against Flamengo, in the opening round of the Primeira Liga do Brasil, Atlético Mineiro president Daniel Nepomuceno announced that the defender was leaving soon for France to undergo medical examinations and sign a five-year contract with Monaco. Atlético wanted to keep the player at least until the end of their Copa Libertadores campaign, but Monaco wanted him immediately. Nepomuceno said:  “He is not yet sold because the contract is not signed. He travels tomorrow [Thursday], and will undergo the examinations. Now we can set the value. There was no proposal for him to play in the Libertadores. Let"s wait for the tests. Given everything is right, he will play in Monaco."
He added: “Atlético hava a significant share. They are inventing several numbers. No way I would let Jemerson leave if it wasn"t a lot of money for the club."
