Brazilian midfielder Ramires is close to joining Chinese side Jiangsu Sainty from Chelsea.
As reported by the English press, the transaction would cost €32 million, if negotiations are successful, and he will be the most expensive transfer in the history of Chinese football. Currently, it belongs to former Botafogo striker Elkeson, who completed an €18.5m move from Guangzhou Evergrande to Shanghai SIPG last week. Ramires, 28, recently renewed his contract with Chelsea, and is tied to the club until 2019. Juventus had tried to sign the player last season, but he was not released by the Blues. In this window, Borussia Dortmund made an enquiry to sign him, but negotiations didn"t advance. Now, with an irresistible proposal from China, the Brazilian is expected to complete his departure from England. With Chelsea, Ramires won the Premier League [2014-15], the FA Cup [2011-12], the League Cup [2014-15], the Europa League [2012-13] and the Champions League [2011-12].
