2015 Brasileirão champions Corinthians have increased their proposal to sign attacking midfielder Sebástian Blanco from San Lorenzo.
After the Argentine club had refused a proposal to sell 50% of economic rights of Blanco, Corinthians made an improved offer to have 100% rights, as confirmed by the sports director of the team, Bernardo Romeo. The values were not disclosed, as the board of Corinthians holds the position of not giving any details on negotiations and avoids contact with the press. Romeo was quoted in Globo Esporte: “We have a new proposal for 100% rights of Blanco, and it was our condition to negotiate. Let’s analyse it calmly.”
Blanco came through Lanús in 2006, and has played for Metalist in Ukraine and also for West Brom of England. The 27-year-old, who was purchased by San Lorenzo for €2 million last season, caught the attention of Corinthians coaching staff during their Copa Libertadores meetings in 2015.
