Portuguese side Sporting Clube are one of the teams keen on the player, but other European and Brazilian clubs are also in the running. Damião’s agent, Vinícius Prates, ensures that the intention of his client is to move to Europe for the first time in his career. According to European press, Damião interests the likes of Galatasaray and Atalanta, but Sporting would be close to a deal. Sporting are offering Damião a six month contract, with an automatic renewal option if he plays a certain number of games. Vinícius Prates said: “At the moment, nothing is set, but we will define it soon for him, so he can start working. He’s going to Europe, yes. There is Sporting, which is a great club with a great coach, but there are also other teams in Europe. At the moment I am in Brazil, but I may have to travel to Europe soon.”
