A major highlight at Boca Juniors in 2015, young striker Jonathan Calleri’s next club could be São Paulo.
Although Atlético Mineiro are believed to be closing in on a deal to sign the 22-year-old until the middle of the year, Calleri’s agent and father, Guillermo Calleri, has confirmed the possibility of a move to São Paulo. Calleri had his economic rights acquired by investors this week for approximately €11 million, and agents are trying to take him to another team now. There are lots of speculations about a deal with Inter Milan, but the Italians are without a non-EU spot, and could only register him in the summer. According to the newspaper Olé, Calleri has already signed his contract termination with Boca Juniors. São Paulo have the presence of their Argentine coach Edgardo Bauza and midfielder Ricardo Centurión, who knows Calleri, and could convince him to join them at Morumbi. Calleri’s father told Lance!: “Yes, there’s a chance to go to Brazil, and, yes, São Paulo is an option.”
