São Paulo have decided to aim high in their search for a new midfielder, and are working on two extremely valuable names; Lucas Silva, who belongs to Real Madrid, and Spartak Moscow’s Rômulo.
According to Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola, both players were offered to São Paulo and pleased both the coaching staff as well as the board. To count on Lucas Silva in this year’s Copa Libertadores, São Paulo would have to convince Real Madrid, owner of the player’s economic rights, and French side Marseille, where Lucas is on loan until the end of the European season. After a good start, Lucas lost ground and is currently a reserve option at Marseille. On the other hand, Rômulo, who has negotiated with São Paulo in two other transfer windows, has just five months remaining in his contract in Russia, and doesn’t intend to continue there.
