The defender was Copa Libertadores champion with Corinthians in 2012, while São Paulo were already showing interest in him last year.
29-year-old Brazilian defender Leandro Castán, who has recovered from a bain surgery, has been in the sights of Brasileirão clubs Corinthians and São Paulo. It is guaranteed by the father and manager of the player, Marcelo Castán, but the possibility of Castán playing for ome of these teams in the Libertadores this year doesn"t exist. He said: “The two clubs have contacted for more information about my son. Today, there is no chance of Castán coming back. Firstly because keeping him at the club really matters to the director of football [Walter Sabatini] of Roma. Castán hasn"t played much, he is being prepared to return slowly. Anyways, Roma plans to keep him and use him the most from the next few months."
Castán was out of action for all of last season when he needed a surgery to remove a cavernoma – irregular blood vessels in the brain, and was in danger of never returning to the pitch again.
