Brazil captain Neymar Junior was beaten to the punch for the 2015 Ballon D’Or, polling in third place with 7.86% of all votes. He lagged behind Cristiano Ronaldo (27.76%) and the winner, his clubmate Lionel Messi was the winner for the 5th time, with 41.33% of the votes cast.

 

Though no Brazilian has won the award since Kaká in 2007, Brazil were the most represented country in the FIFPRO XI for 2015. Barcelona right back Dani Alves, Real Madrid left-back Marcelo and PSG centre half Thiago Silva joined Neymar in the world XI chosen by coaches and international captains throughout the world.

 

The full FIFPRO XI team is: Neuer, DANI ALVES, THIAGO SILVA, Sergio Ramos, MARCELO, Paul Pogba, Luka Modric, Andres Iniesta, NEYMAR, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo.
