Italian side Napoli are reportedly interested in signing Brazilian central defender Dedé from Cruzeiro, to replace Henrique who’s close to leaving the country.
Although the board of Cruzeiro ensured that they haven’t received any proposals for Dedé following the reports linking him with Palmeiras, the player seems to be in the sights of Napoli. According to a report published by the Italian website CalcioMercato, the club is in the market to search for a defender to replace Henrique, who should be announced by Fluminense in the coming days. Torino’s Nikola Maksimović and Federico Barba of Empoli are the other two players considered by Napoli. In recent days, there have been speculations that Dedé interests Palmeiras, but Cruzeiro issued a statement denying any contact from the Brazilian side.
Dedé has been away from the pitch since the beginning of November 2014, when he suffered a right knee injury in a match against Santos. He spent the whole of 2015 recovering from the problem, but is expected to attend pre-season with Cruzeiro this year.
