The new year wouldn’t be starting too well for Brazilian midfielder Lucas Silva as Marseille could send him back to Real Madrid in the transfer window this month.
According to the French newspaper L’Équipe, Marseille are so disappointed with the performance of the former Cruzeiro man that they’re considering a contract termination to cancel the loan deal, which runs out until the end of the season. The report states that Marseille still have a problem to solve if they decide to terminate the loan deal, and that is to convince Real Madrid to take the player back. Currently, coach Rafa Benítez have the likes of Kroos, Modric, Casemiro and Kovačić available for the position.
Club coach Michel admitted that he has lost a bit of confidence in the Brazilian youngster, but expects to see him bounce back. Lucas hasnt been in the first XI for the last nine games, with his previous start coming early November, against Nice.
