The board of Cruise issued a statement on Monday to deny that they are negotiating defender Dedé with Palmeiras and attacker Willian with a Chinese club.
The interest of Palmeiras in Dedé is not new. The issue arises now and then in the Brazilian press, especially after director of football Alexandre Mattos left Cruzeiro and went to the São Paulo based club. The statement read: “Cruzeiro Esporte Clube states that there have been false news reports in recent hours about possible sales of our club’s players. Our board was never consulted by Palmeiras, with regard to the defender Dedé. Cruzeiro were never approached by any club in China that intended to sign striker Willian. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube has done all transactions with great transparency so that our fans are always aware of all the administrative acts of the board of the club.”
