British journalist Graham Hunter reports that current Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola wants to manage Brazil at the 2022 World Cup. Hunter, a Scottish journalist living in Barcelona, alleges that coaching the Seleção at Qatar 2022 features in his medium term ambitions, along with managing Manchester United.

Rumours are gathering that Guardiola is set to leave his post at Bayern very soon, with reports suggesting that he will not renew his contract, which expires in June 2016. Guardiola was briefly linked with the Brazil job when Luiz Felipe Scolari was sacked after the 2014 World Cup. But the rumour mill has it that the CBF did not want to appoint a foreign coach.

Barcelona right-back Dani Alves repeated this claim in a press conference earlier this year. Hunter told the BBC, “If things go the way he wants, his desire is to experience life at Manchester United for a variety of reasons. After that, in his great plan, is something will hurt if it does not happen.

“His project includes working two or three years at Manchester United, and then to take Brazil to the World Cup in Qatar. These are the next stages of his ideal career.” Current Brazil boss Dunga is said to be under pressure, with Corinthians boss Tite lurking in the wings and ready to take over.
