Brasileirão champions Corinthians, who have already lost one of their key players to China, are now concerned about the situation of Renato Augusto.
Jádson has accepted an offer from Chinese second-division side Tianjin Songjiang and his transfer will be made official soon. According to UOL Esporte, the coaching staff and the club’s board are aware of at least two enquiries from German football for Renato Augusto; more precisely, from Schalke and his former club Bayer Leverkusen.
As reported by German newspaper BILD, Schalke are ready to make an official proposal for Renato, who was elected as the league’s best player for 2015. Meanwhile, German magazine Kicker reports that Schalke’s offer would be €10 million, and the club sees Renato as a reliable option to fill the void left by Julian Draxler following his move to Wolfsburg.
Renato Augusto has a contract with Corinthians until December 2016, and has expressed his desire to remain at the club. However, in recent interviews, the midfielder admitted the possibility of leaving the team in the event of a proposal that’s good for both him and Corinthians.
