Grêmio have agreed to send 20-year-old forward Yuri Mamute to Saudi Arabian side Al Qadisiyah on loan for 18 months.
Al Qadisiyah are coached by former Brazil U20 manager Alexandre Gallo, and the signing was a request by him. According to Globo Esporte, the transfer just depends on the wage settlement between the player and the Asian club. Alexandre Gallo’s admiration for Mamute is not new, as the striker was a constant presence in his Brazil U20 team. Under Gallo, the youngster was named the best player of 2013 Toulon Tournament, held in France.
Mamute started this year year on a high, and was one of the highlights of the team during the Campeonato Gaúcho under Luiz Felipe Scolari, who publicly asked for a pay-rise to the player following his good performances. But after a left ankle injury, he was sidelined for about a month, and then the level of performances dropped.
