Cruzeiro’s director of football Thiago Scuro says that fans can expect this week a clear definition on the club’s coach for the 2016 season.
Thiago Scuro was in Italy, where he talked to the representatives of former Dutch footballer Clarence Seedorf, who previously worked at AC Milan. Scuro didn’t reveal any names, and just said the new coach would have to fit a certain profile required by the club. According to Globo Esporte, Cruzeiro have also talked to Argentine managers Marcelo Bielsa, who recently left Marseille, and Jorge Sampaoli, currently with the Chilean national team. Scuro said: “No proposal has been made to any professional, let us sit down in the middle of the week. This decision does not belong to the football director. My role is to gather information, view the profile of each professional, and to know what Cruzeiro will build. We need a leader who manage all the areas around the players. Much more than a big name, Cruzeiro seeks a professional who has knowledge and is able to lead this project. The fans can expect this week a definition on the coach, coaching staff and the model we’ll work.”
