Italian sides Fiorentina, AS Roma and Juventus have already made enquiries about the situation of Fluminense’s 20-year-old central defender Marlon.
As reported by Globo Esporte, another team that would be counting on the player for 2016 is Barcelona, who also have a preference in negotiations. Barcelona had already paid for a first-refusal on three young talents of the Brazilian club, but didn’t activate their option when Kenedy and Gérson were sold to Chelsea and Roma, respectively. The team from Catalonia have a longstanding desire to bring the defender after the Brasileirão, so they’re waiting for their transfer ban to end and then formalize a proposal to Fluminense. One possibility would be to sign Marlon at the start of next season and place him at another European club on loan, to gain experience. Marlon has a contract with Fluminense until the end of 2019 and is currently a regular in the club’s starting XI.
